Heavy Metal Album Review : Krankenstein Dirt Nap

Krankenstein - Dirtnap
Broad Horizons Records 2011
Rating : 7/10

Krankenstein's Dirt Nap is an almost progressive metal album blending classic old school Thrash Metal heavy on the guitars with elements of power metal in particular some of the vocals.

Recorded in 2000 and not officially released until 2011 on Broad Horizons Records while the album has a definite classic style Krankenstein still retain their relevance in the modern metal scene.

Strong vocals combined with twin guitar attacks and an underlying heavy percussive element make this a strong metal album definitely worth a listen.

One of the stand out tracks for me is "Fight For Your Life" with it's percussive beat, mixture of almost power metal vocals combined with a rough almost spoken style and some excellent guitar sections. The track also contains lyrics that probably speak to metal heads around the world!
"Just because we're different they are afraid"
While listening there were points where the album almost became too much of the same thing, however, little interesting diversions such as the voice over before "Pearl of the Pacific" and the slight change of style and tempo on this track bring the album back to life and it continues strongly from there!

So if you're in the mood for a classic metal album that's still relevant today then look no further...
