Heavy Metal News From the Week Gone By

Below are a few snippets that caught my attention this week, some light hearted news, some good news and some terrible news...

Starting with the bad GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot aka Flattus Maximus found dead yesterday and will be sadly missed. Read the bands statement here

Lou Reed says Metallica fans have threatened to shoot him and also talks about possible further collaborations?! I shall be finally forcing myself to listen to and review "Lulu" over the weekend and still somewhat optimistically hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Megadeath release the new video for "Public Enemy No 1" check it out on their website here

Black Sabbath have sparked rumours on a reunion all over the net with the appearance of "11.11.11" on their website will have to wait until then to see what it means I guess

Bloodstock Open Air Festival announce Dimmu Borgir, Hatebreed, Corrosion of Conformity and Anaal Nathrakh for the 2012 line-up, full details on the BOA website

And finally you can check out the video for the Korpiklaani song that didn't make it through to the Eurovision contest, it might actually have been worth watching if they had...
