Heavy Metal News : Joe Satriani a Comic Book Hero

So news just in February 2012 will see guitar legend Joe Satriani appear in the fantasy comic Eternal Descent.

Heavy Metal and Fantasy Comics have always gone hand in hand and now IDW Publishing available Worldwide through Diamond Distribution are seeking to cement that drawing on Satriani's back catalogue to provide a re-imagining of his music.

Eternal Descent Vol 2 #3 (of 6) opens with a group of heroes divided and in turmoil. Upon making the ultimate sacrifice, Sirian finds himself caught amidst time and space as strange beautiful music resonates throughout the cosmos, heralding the arrival of Joe Satriani - The Extremist himself - seeking to guide the lost and bring harmony to dissonance.
"Lost souls lurk in every shadow, darkness veils sinister designs and heavy metal could be the key to salvation... or the gateway to destruction!"

Eternal Descent is the brain child of British guitarist and comic creator Llexi Leon and invokes a world where angels and demons battle alongside some of the biggest names in metal including, Firewind, Periphery and Arch Enemy

The issue will be available with four different covers distributed equally and at random, the covers feature a tribute to Satrini albums - Not of the Earth, Crystal Planet, The Extremist & Time Machine.

The Joe Satriani issue of Eternal Descent is available for pre-order now
